“Write a postcard to the sea..”
Public Response:
'Lookout' was received with great emotion and achieved significant impact during its residency at Aldeburgh Beach Lookout tower. Many people took up the invitation to write a ‘postcard to the sea’, in response to the experience, and these contained powerful testimonies, heartfelt pleas and hopes for the future (see the postcard gallery below).
“Having experienced 'Lookout', please write your
postcard to the Sea, and post it in the magic post-box
on the 'Time & Tide' black fishermen's hut just along
the beach. The Siren post-seagulls will deliver your
postcards and you can find them displayed at the
Jubilee Hall. It can be a story, a love letter, a get well card,
a song, anything you want, inspired by 'Lookout'.”
“It's time for urgent sea-change, for us to quicken and mutate,
into something fierce and strange.
This is the waking of the kraken, the siren call to action.
In years to come, a little voice will ask, 'what did you do?'
Who will save this single-use planet, if not you?”
